A Resident's Heartfelt Letter to her Baby Boy

Dear Son,

I want to start off by saying that you saved my life. Before you, life was empty. I had an emptiness in my soul that could not be explained. I lived my life day to day wondering if God would ever bring a change. When I found out I was pregnant with you, I knew sacrifices had to be made for your sake. When I decided to come to Mamas house, it was for you and your future. I knew that I needed a better life for you. I had to be able to provide for you, and get our own place. I needed all your needs, diapers, clothes, wipes.

I knew that I had to make a change if not for myself for you. This letter is to let you know that you are everything to me. You have single handedly changed my life and heart. You are God’s gift and blessing to me. God chose you for my life because he knew that I was the mother that was right for you, that I would be the one to direct your path in life. God knew that you and specifically you were what I needed to change my life. You are the baby God blessed with a purpose. I am here at Mama’s house so that I can start anew, start over with a reason to be happy: my family.

You are my reason for trying; my reason for breathing and carrying on. You are my everything. When it comes to you I am willing to do whatever it takes. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine." You give my life a purpose. Your father and I love you so much it hurts. You are my world, son; you have not only changed my life but your father’s life as well. You have made us better.

Daddy has changed so much in his life because of you. He is a full-time worker. He works every day to provide for you and our family. He was always kind to me, but he makes more sacrifices as a father then he has ever done solely for me. This is because he needs you, too. Daddy and I need our little baby so very much. Thank you for changing our lives. We will spend every moment of every day trying to be the best parents we can be. Thank you for blessing Mommy and Daddy’s life. I love you.

Always and Forever, Your mother
